- Place the books in order from largest to smallest, whether on the shelf or lying flat on a table.

Vases: For an appealing display, group vases of different or the same size together. Asymmetrical grouping is very eye-catching, instead of putting one vase on a sideboard, put three vases of different sizes and shapes together. Go for balance, not symmetry, and aim for odd numbers.

Cushions and Pillows: Well-selected cushions can add color and style to any space. So, when you are buying pillows, make sure to identify your color palette first. To do so, take a look at your space and consider the paintings on the wall, curtains, and other existing accessories. 

You can also get playful by mixing up sizes and shapes. For instance, choose two large cushions with solid colors, and add smaller ones with different patterns.
